1st Day in Paradise: Crystal Blue

God, what an absolutely magical trip...

There is no other way to describe my time here in the sunny Maldives at the Taj Exotica Resort and Spa with my lovely friend Michelle. The thing about the Maldives is that it just has the most beautiful shade of blue lagoon shimmering around you, every single time I looked out my window or blinked across the ocean I was completely awed. 

First day consisted of snorkelling, tubing and kayaking. God, snorkelling was such a pleasure, there were literally fish everywhere in every color. It was just so amazing being able to peek into a whole new world (even for sharkophobes like me haha!) I swear every form of watersport in the Maldives is ten times better just because of the stunning backgrounds. Did you know that the water is so clear that you can look straight through and spot black tipped sharks and rays? We had a lovely Marine Biologist onboard (Gary) to teach us all about marine life; gotta admit, I definitely brushed up on my knowledge of aquatic life. 

Thanks to the lovely Taj Resort, we got upgraded to a fabulous suite overlooking the 'Sunrise' part of the Island. Mmm below you can see our lovely private haven and plunge pool overlooking the crystal blue waters of the lagoon.
