Floral Shadows

It seems like summer weather is upon us here in tropical Hong Kong...

It seems like summer weather is upon us here in tropical Hong Kong (took long enough! I thought I'd be living in a land of foggy humid spring showers till I left for London in September!). I'm a sun girl. I absolutely adore the sun! When the sun is out, every single thing looks a little bit shinier and happier, call it 'sun-tinted glasses' if you will...or 'sunglasses' (oh wait, we have those already!), but you gotta admit everything does look nice and hazy with a lovely pair of sepia-toned sunnies. 

After the initial freak-out over whether the photos would look extremely over-exposed, I came to my senses and remembered that I was a girl who knew how to use the Manual mode on her DSLR now, hah! Silly me! Guess I just don't have a sense of professionalism honed in me, yet. Well, guess what crazy sunny days, not afraid of you anymore. The photos turned out surprisingly beautiful. There is something about the extreme blast of sunlight that renders all prints and details crystal clear yet at the same time allows soft shadows to swirl amongst the folds of the fabric and congregate in the dark frame corners. Ahh dear sunlight, how I've missed you. 

What better weather than today to pop out a silk floral dress?  Over the weekend, I raided Zara for work-worthy dresses in wonderful shades of floral and white. I have a nice collection of white dresses now to go along with my  dark golden tan. As of right now - as much as I'd like to pull off a sexy burgandy-hued red, white is definitely my color. Rest assured that you'll see a lot more of my new white numbers in future posts.
